40+ years. One line.
WELLGO was founded in 1982 in Idar-Oberstein — with a clear ambition: to produce plastic components so precisely that customers can focus on everything else. From that ambition, across four decades, grew a group that turns ideas into assembled products — today with its core site in the northern Saarland.
Founding in Idar-Oberstein
WELLGO GmbH is founded — with a clear mission to build precision tools that customers can rely on. From day one, with cross-regional ambition.

The brand takes shape: tools and injection-moulded parts
The descriptor is the plan: WELLGO visibly stands for Werkzeuge und Spritzgußteile — a combination that will move into the official company name 20 years later.

Growing manufacturing depth
The machine park keeps growing — a fleet of modern Arburg injection moulding machines turns WELLGO into a reliable serial-production partner.

Capacity expansion
A new production hall goes up — floor space doubles, opening the door to new serial contracts in automotive and industrial parts.

Plant II and WELLGO Electronic
From tool to mechatronic assembly: with Plant II going live and the WELLGO Electronic brand, we lay the foundation for everything we today call systems competence.

Hygiene innovation pioneer
WELLGO develops and launches the first automatic battery-powered paper towel dispenser — a category is born. Electronics and software become part of the house.
Company renamed
WELLGO GmbH becomes WELLGO Werkzeugbau und Spritzgussteile GmbH — the company name now reflects what the site has stood for for years.
Centre of competence e-mobility
Establishment of an in-house centre of competence for e-mobility: direct drives, sensor grips, mechatronic assemblies with overmoulded connectors, LiFePO4 storage.
Smart IoT
The PGP dispenser becomes connected: RFID to secure consumables, LoRaWAN for inventory and operations data. WELLGO Systems GmbH bundles electronics and software competence.
KOMATRA values initiative
WELLGO hosts the KOMATRA conference "New horizons: how values and people change companies" — work research with practical relevance.
New plant
Move into the new plant: more space for toolmaking, moulding and assembly, modern connected production processes and room to grow in e-mobility and hygiene.
The WELLGO Group
Around 150 employees, 38 injection moulding machines (40–1,000 t), 14 CNC/EDM machines in toolmaking, 120 tools per year, more than 100 materials in use — ISO 9001:2015, PPAP-ready, IMDS-compliant.
What has held us together through all these years
Three constants have carried WELLGO through four decades: the in-house manufacturing depth, a deeply rooted claim to precision and reliability, and people — from Idar-Oberstein to today's northern Saarland — who see their craft as vocation. That is the core — everything else is a consequence.
